Alluring/Memorable – Alina inherited her mother’s natural beauty and, with the help of extensive training in aesthetics, knows how to exploit her natural charms by displaying them to their best advantage. However, because of this she tends to attract a good deal of attention, standing out in a crowd and in one’s memory. Considering that most common folk on the Border and Rim planets have never seen a flesh and blood Companion, she tends to be received with a mixture of covetous awe and derision.
Highly Educated – Brought up on Sihnon and exposed at an early age to the finest education available, Alina is a considerable musician as well as a classical linguist and a refined artist. She also has the benefit of many years of schooling at a Companion Training House, making her well versed in the skill of polite conversation, as well as in the sensual arts.

The respectability, not to mention the novelty and exotic nature of her position allow her access to the very top layers of polite society. In accordance with Guild Law, she is free to choose her own clientele and command her own time, and in the few years since her becoming an officially registered Companion, she has plied her trade among the Core planets. Her pleasant charm and cultured demeanor, not to mention her familial connections, earned her many clients and a modicum of fame throughout the circles in which she travelled.
[Alina’s father is business magnate Corvin al-Aziz, a long time client of her mother’s who contracted Silena to attend him personally during the last years of his life. Fathering Alina caused a scandal, throwing his family and his business into disarray with massive speculation as to the heir he would name. While of the social elite, Companions still exist outside society. Though a Companion is welcomed as an escort at a party, a Companion would not be so well-received as husband or wife. The issue resolved itself when it was determined that, while al-Aziz would recognize Alina as his daughter, she would receive none of his fortune.]
